MULBERRY MADNESS

Jessie loves exotic food, I can't believe her taste-
Nuts and cheese and chockie cake, she's hooked on salmon paste.
Now she's found another treat, it was a shock to me-
To find her having quite a time, beneath the Mulberry tree.
        Jesse with mulberries
Windy-Wind was blowing hard and out the back I found-
Ripe black-purple Mulberries, all falling on the ground.
I ran and got a bucket, to fill it to the brim-
That's when I spotted Jessie underneath a loaded limb.

She looked up at me grinning, you should have seen her face-
Sticky whiskers, Purple mouth, a grubby dog disgrace.
I thought I'd better hurry and pick some for myself-
To have delicious Mulberry jam in jars up on my shelf.

I would not have believed it, her cheeky, sticky grin-
While lying there just chewing and stuffing Mulberries in.
I guess I'll fill her bowl up, then she won't have to dream-
I'll buy a carton so she can have Mulberries and cream.
